Tracking your public tender bids in one spreadsheet, and the rest of your commercial activity in another, means losing the overall view when it is time to prioritise your time between a private deal and a public consultation. This application builds the bridge between the two records, one way, and never creates a duplicate, for anyone already keeping their sales pipeline in the same application.
Who the application is for
For small businesses already tracking their deals in a sales pipeline, who want their bids for French and European public tenders to appear there too, without keeping a second, separate record.
What the application does
- Creates an opportunity in the pipeline as soon as a tender notice reaches a stage you have marked as a decision to bid.
- Creates it only once: going through that stage again, or returning to it after moving back, never creates a duplicate.
- Attaches the buyer as the customer, looking it up among your contacts or creating it if it is not there yet.
- Carries over into the opportunity the notice's title, the response deadline, the subject, the notice's link and the weight of price in the score.
- Shows on the notice, next to the buyer, a field and a button leading directly to the opportunity created.
Day to day
- Check once which stages of your tender tracking carry the decision-to-bid flag — four do so by default.
- Move the notice forward to one of those stages: the opportunity is created and linked to the notice on its own.
- Open the opportunity through the notice's button, and track it from there like any other deal in your pipeline, with its own stages, activities and quotations.
- If you track an expected amount, enter it yourself on the opportunity: the application deliberately leaves it at zero, for lack of a reliable published figure on most notices.
- If the opportunity is deleted by mistake, simply move the notice through a decision stage again for a new one to be created.
What the application does not do
- It sends no information back from the pipeline to the notice: closing or losing the opportunity never changes the notice's stage.
- It does not create quotations, orders or invoices.
- It does not estimate any amount or probability of winning: public tenders do not publish enough usable figures for that.
- It does not copy the full scoring grid or the eligibility conditions into the opportunity, only the price weight in one line.
Getting started
Check in your tender stage settings which ones carry the decision-to-bid flag, especially if you have added your own stages, and make sure the tender monitoring application and the sales pipeline are both installed.
