Attachments deposited in your Microsoft 365 space

Management attachments live on one side, company documents live in Microsoft 365 on the other, and in between someone copies by hand — and forgets. This application automatically deposits each attachment into your OneDrive or SharePoint space, in a folder per record.

Who the application is for

For companies that already use Microsoft 365 for their documents and want attachments added to a customer file, an order or an invoice to end up there automatically, without re-entry.

What the application does

  • Deposits each attachment into a folder of its own, under a tree structure you choose, under a root folder that is never exceeded.
  • Sanitises folder names before sending, to avoid forbidden characters and attempts to escape the root folder.
  • Renews the access token before it expires, and detects a final expiry to stop the queue rather than exhaust itself in pointless retries.
  • Respects a rate limit signalled by Microsoft 365 by pausing the queue until the indicated delay, then resuming it on its own.
  • Leaves the choice, per connection, of keeping the remote file, moving it to the recycle bin or deleting it when the attachment is removed from management.
  • Flags, without ever relaunching it on its own, a task whose real outcome stayed uncertain, so a human decision avoids any duplicate.

Day to day

  1. Create the connection with the credentials of the application registered on the Microsoft side, the root folder and the desired tree structure.
  2. Choose the record types to be tracked: none are tracked by default, to avoid an unwanted mass deposit.
  3. Check access with the trial button, which genuinely queries your Microsoft 365 space and confirms the connection responds.
  4. Add an attachment to a tracked record: it goes out on the next queue run, or immediately through the manual action.
  5. Watch the deposited files screen and the queue screen to spot an orphaned task or a token that needs renewing.

What the application does not do

  • It does not deposit files larger than four megabytes: the file stays in your management system, intact, and the task says why.
  • It does not pull back into management the files created directly from Microsoft 365, and does not sync both ways.
  • It assumes an installation that allows outbound calls to the internet; some hosted offers do not permit this.

Getting started

Prepare the application registration, its secret and the administrator consent on the Microsoft side, find the identifier of the target site and drive, then run your first deployment on a trial folder rather than on your everyday documents: the publisher states that this application has not been tested against a real Microsoft 365 space, its logic having been verified against recorded responses matching the official documentation.
