Veterinary clinic: vaccination reminders and prescriptions

A vaccine reminder spotted too late, at the next consultation rather than at the right moment; a prescription issued without the medicine stock moving accordingly: the daily reality of a small independent or mobile veterinary clinic. This application tracks reminders, issues prescriptions and deducts stock, on top of the animal records already kept.

Who the application is for

For the practitioner, the manager and the support staff of a small independent or mobile veterinary clinic, in France, already tracking animal records, a consultation schedule and invoicing.

What the application does

  • Calculates the date of the next vaccination reminder from a protocol set per species, each with its own interval.
  • Chases up the team, and the owner by email if that option is on, for a reminder that is approaching or overdue — never raising a second chase while the first one is still open.
  • Schedules an annual check-up reminder for any active animal with no consultation for a period you set yourself.
  • Attaches the prescribed medicines to a prescription, with their dosage, treatment length and quantity.
  • Automatically deducts the stock of tracked medicines when the prescription is delivered.
  • Prints the animal's health and vaccination booklet, and a printable prescription for the owner.
  • Keeps a dashboard: active animals, the month's consultations and revenue, prescriptions delivered, overdue and upcoming reminders.

Day to day

  1. From the consultation, record the vaccine administered by choosing the species' protocol: the next reminder date is calculated and a reminder is scheduled.
  2. Write up the prescription, one line per medicine with its dosage and quantity, then click Deliver: the stock is deducted on its own.
  3. Let the daily chases do their job: an activity for the team, an email to the owner if that option is ticked.
  4. Check the dashboard to see at a glance overdue reminders, the month's prescriptions and revenue.
  5. Print the health and vaccination booklet or the prescription from the print button, whenever the owner needs them.

What the application does not do

  • It has no interface or electronic link with a national pet identification database.
  • It does not keep a regulatory prescription register and does not manage pharmacovigilance.
  • It does not verify any practitioner's registration with the national veterinary order: the practice of veterinary medicine remains reserved to registered practitioners.
  • Reminder intervals are default management protocols, not a medical prescription or a legal requirement: they do not replace the practitioner's judgement or a professional's advice.

Free and full editions

The free edition already carries the animal record with its owner, a consultation schedule with no double-booking of a practitioner, and invoicing for the procedures carried out. The full edition installs on top without losing any of the records already entered, and adds the dashboard, vaccination reminders with their chases, prescriptions with stock deduction, and the two PDF exports.

Getting started

Install the free edition first if you have not already, assign each practitioner and assistant to their group, then check or adjust the vaccination protocols provided — species, reminder interval — and the delay before a chase is triggered.
