A refrigerant leak found at the wrong moment, a leak check that nobody can say should recur every three months or every two years, a company capacity certificate whose end date slips by unnoticed: an operator of refrigeration equipment juggles deadlines that overlap. This application keeps the register of each unit and calculates, for every one, the leak-check frequency that applies, along with the sentence that justifies it.
Who the application is for
For operators of refrigeration or air-conditioning equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases — food retail, catering, hospitality, industry, the services sector — in European Union countries subject to Regulation (EU) 2024/573.
What the application does
- Calculates, from the refrigerant and the charge in kilograms, whether the unit is subject to a leak check and at what frequency, whether the refrigerant's threshold is read in tonnes of CO2 equivalent or directly in kilograms.
- Displays a sentence explaining the frequency applied, ready to show during an inspection.
- Checks that the servicing company holds a valid capacity certificate at the date of the check, and that the technician is certified.
- Refuses to record a passing result when a leak has been detected, and calculates the window within which the post-repair check must take place.
- Keeps the register of interventions for each unit, available to consult at any time.
- Keeps units that are not subject to the requirement visible, with the reason, to track a fleet that changes over time.
- Flags that a non-fluorinated refrigerant, such as CO2, falls outside the regulation's scope and needs no leak check on that basis.
Day to day
- Declare each unit with its refrigerant and its charge in kilograms.
- Let the application state whether the unit is subject to the requirement and at what check frequency.
- Declare your contractor's capacity certificate and its end date before recording a check.
- Record each leak check; if a leak is detected, complete the repair and the check that follows it.
What the application does not do
- It does not produce any annual refrigerant declaration or any official form.
- It does not replace the company's capacity certificate or the certification of the people carrying out the work.
- The global warming potentials provided for each refrigerant must be checked by you against the regulation in force, which can change.
- It does not replace the advice of a qualified professional or the competent authority on your situation: the regulatory thresholds and frequencies can change.
Getting started
List your units with their exact refrigerant and their charge in kilograms, check the global warming potential of each refrigerant against the regulation in force, then declare the capacity certificate of the company that carries out your checks. Also declare, where relevant, units using a refrigerant outside the regulation's scope, so your fleet stays complete and easy to read.
