Writing down arrival and departure times in a notebook, recounting everything at the end of the month, hoping no absence was forgotten: the daily reality of an independent childminder managing her own care arrangement. This free application, for France, tracks the hours actually worked and prepares a simple summary for the parent-employer.
Who the application is for
For independent childminders registered with their local child protection service (PMI) in France, who care for one or more children and want a simple way to track their attendance hours and monthly summary.
What the application does
- Keeps a file for each child in care, with their family and, if needed, a payer different from a legal guardian.
- Automatically calculates the contract's monthly hours base from the weekly days and hours agreed.
- Records each child's actual arrival and departure times, with a reason when absent.
- Shows a visual, non-blocking reminder if the number of children in care at the same time exceeds the declared approval limit.
- Produces a printable monthly summary: hours recorded, deducted absences, the gap with the monthly hours base and the month's upkeep allowance.
- Lets you mark each absence reason as billable or not, so the summary only deducts the absences that should be deducted.
Day to day
- Create the child's file and record at least one legal guardian.
- Set up the childcare contract: days, hours, net hourly rate and daily upkeep allowance.
- Record every arrival and departure, and mark an absence with its reason when it occurs.
- At month's end, generate the child's summary and print it to hand to the parent-employer.
What the application does not do
- It does not replace the French Pajemploi payroll service: no social declaration or payslip is produced.
- It does not issue any invoice: the childminder is an employee of the private employer, not a service provider.
- It does not verify the approval with the relevant local authority: the children's ceiling is declared by the user, never checked remotely.
- The approval overrun reminder stays visual: it never blocks data entry, and respecting the approval limit remains the childminder's own responsibility.
- It does not replace the advice of the relevant French authority or payroll service on your rights and obligations: the rules change and must be checked with them.
Getting started
First declare, in the settings, the number of children your approval allows you to care for at the same time, to be checked yourself with the relevant local authority. Then create each child's file with their family, followed by their childcare contract with its hours and rate. Finally, check for each already available absence reason whether it should remain billable in your case, before starting daily attendance recording.
