Separate test and live environments
Use provider test keys and documented test payment methods on a protected database. Never use a real customer card to prove a configuration.
Cover the complete journey
Verify product, tax, cart, address, checkout, redirect, provider result, Odoo transaction, order state, confirmation email and customer portal.
Test failures as carefully as success
Include refusal, abandonment, duplicate clicks, delayed webhooks, refund and replay. Payment processing must be idempotent and auditable.
Reconcile the evidence
Compare the provider transaction, Odoo record, order and accounting outcome. A green screen without matching records is not an end-to-end proof.
Activate live mode deliberately
Confirm account verification, keys, legal terms, privacy information, taxes, support ownership and rollback before accepting real money.
